King’s Lander Primary Academy is proud to announce that it has been awarded the prestigious Attachment and Trauma Sensitive Schools Award (ATSSA) at Bronze Level.
The award recognises schools that demonstrate a deep commitment to creating safe, nurturing and inclusive environments where children can thrive emotionally, socially and academically.
Following a rigorous assessment process, external verifier Dr Jennifer Nock praised the school’s “culture of compassion and nurture” and highlighted the exceptional work taking place across the academy to ensure every child feels safe, valued and ready to learn.
The report celebrated a number of key strengths, including:
- Consistent approaches across the school that help children feel secure and supported.
- Strong relationships between staff and pupils, with children’s voices placed at the heart of decision-making.
- Calm and nurturing learning environments designed to support emotional wellbeing and self-regulation.
- Outstanding partnerships with parents and carers built on trust, empathy and open communication.
- A strong commitment to staff wellbeing, coaching and professional development.
The award
Yvonne Dineley, Principal of King’s Lander Primary Academy, said:
